Ecclesiology

Ecclesiology is the study, or doctrine of the Church.

The Greek word Ekklesia, meaning assembly, a specific called out assembly. In the Christian sense it's the assembly of saints. Those set apart for God's purpose. All true Christians are saints; set apart ones.

We often exclaim that we are 'Going to church'. However, Christians are individual members of the church, it is not a physical building, no matter how beautiful a Cathredral may be! The assembling of the saints is often on Sundays, commemorating the risen Christ. Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:1-2. Historically the church has assembled on Sundays for corporate worship.
